Dying Tides: Beyond the Beyond EP

The sounds of internalising the outside.

I made this over winter and spring 2025-2026 during a weird time of change. This was mostly an experiment in perseverance and learning - putting final shapes onto ideas that have been to-ing and fro-ing over recent years, lying on hard drive after hard drive.

One day, I’ll write a blog article on some of the techniques I learnt, adapted, as well as and heavily borrowed. Before the winter started, I spent about 6 months learning and adapting some systems to build the basis of these tracks. I even created some new tools when I hit creative dead ends of how to get sounds from inside my head and out of my speakers.

Inspired by Henry Vaughans Silex Scintillans, Blake’s Songs of Innocence and Experience, and more recent writing about microhistory - landscapes formed form muted interwoven lives across centuries - these songs are my pictures of landscapes alive with the gravity of accumulated human experience, beyond just the scenery.
